And, again, I would need the passcode, in this case, so I'd have to go back either to this email or have the host send me the passcode. But, in this case, you just need to copy the meeting ID, then go to the Zoom desktop app, click the Join button, and then paste that address into this field. If you're just putting in the meeting ID, you'll also need the password, in this case, if the meeting has been set up with a password. So, anybody with this link can just click it and they won't need to enter the password.

#Zoom meeting join password#
Now, the advantage of clicking the link is that the password is encoded into this link. Notice we have the meeting ID right here, but it's also right here in the address. If you're asked to join a meeting, and you've never received the invitation email, you can still get the meeting host to send this number to you. Every Zoom meeting has a unique number assigned to it. Now, another way to join the meeting is with the meeting ID number, which is also included here in this address. But just know that even though you can click the invite link at any time, you can't enter the room until it's opened by the host, unless they've set up a preference to allow participants to enter before the meeting starts. I and other participants won't be able to get into the meeting until the host, in this case Nick, starts the meeting on his end. And here I can see that the meeting is scheduled to start at 2:30 my time on the East Coast. Clicking the link, opens up the Zoom desktop app. And I have a link here to join that meeting. So I can see this meeting is set up at 11:30 AM Pacific time, it's been sent by Nick. If you use an online calendar system that your company has set up to integrate with Zoom, you may see an event in your online calendar as well with the same information. And here, I have this message from Nick inviting me to a meeting.

Alternately, if you've been invited to a meeting, you probably received an invitation in your email. So, if you're logged into your Zoom account at the Zoom website and you come over to Meetings, you might see the meetings you've been invited to, here, under Upcoming, if you do see the meeting listed here, you can click on it and then click the button to join that meeting. This invitation may come to you in one of several different ways but, essentially, what you need is either a web link or the meeting ID number for the meeting that you want to join. If you're a Zoom user, at some point, you'll probably be invited to join a meeting hosted by another Zoom user.
